Yield about 3 cups


  • 2 cups water
  • 2/3 cup catsup
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 2 tablespoons instant minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
