Ingredients
- 1 cup organic ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Preparation
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely. Cover and store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
- Tip: I have gone a bit crazy trying to get high-fructose corn syrup out of my kids' diet, so I've started buying organic ketchup, which doesn't have any. It's delicious.
