My family, including a 5 & 6 year old, absolutely LOVED this. I kinda goofed up and mixed all the ingredients together and put them on the chicken, which we then grilled. I also did not have regular chili powder so I used Hot Mexican Chili Powder. Delicious! The kids wanted it again the next night, but I had already made something else and had NO leftovers! So I will make this for them again tonight for dinner!

We loved these chicken thighs! So flavorful. We did them on a gas grill rather than in a grill pan since I don't have one. The thighs stand up well to the robust sauce and remain juicy even when grilled. My husband keeps asking me to make these again.

This was pretty tastey! My husband loved it, although my 2-year-old wouldn't eat it (he is picky). I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of thighs and it turned out fine. I also used cider vinegar instead of sherry or red wine vinegar. This dish didn't have any spiciness to it, but was very flavorful anyway. This is a great dish for young children because it won't be too spicy for them. This was really easy to make because I had most/all the ingredients already and didn't have to make a trip to the store for something specific! I will definitely make this again!

Yum! I didn't notice much flavor from the rub, but it was delicious!! My husband loved it, will definitely make again. I cooked it on my gas grill, served with grilled corn on the cob and CL's Classic Potato Salad.

This was excellent. I made it on my gas grill, so maybe that helped with the flavor. Even my 8 year old thought it was delicious. Will definitely make this many more times.

super easy rub and glaze with great flavor! We grilled chicken breasts instead of using thighs, and just adjusted the cooking time a little. The whole family loved it!

Very tasty! Have made it twice with thighs - bone-in & boneless. Both times excellent, followed the recipe same way for each. Medium-High too high for that long on my cooktop; I do medium to medium-low (but that could definitely just be my cooktop...). Love that everything but the chicken is ingredients we have on hand. Fast enough for weeknights but would make for company, too. This is a keeper!

The chicken was very flavorful and delicious. First I seared it in a grill pan and then baked it in the oven for about 20 minutes. We loved it! I will definitely make this dish again soon.

my whole family loved this recipe, it is very easy and quick to make. I used chipolte chile pepper instead of chili powder. i also used regular paprika and not the smoked.

My husband and I thought these were just ok. They were very similar to another CL recipe, Spicy Honey-Brushed Chicken Thighs which we thought were better. Because we thought they were so similar in taste, we missed the "zing" of the cayenne at the end. Had we never had the Honey Chicken, we would have liked these a lot better. We had with tater tots.

I have made this a few times, and my kids love it! My 7 year olds comment"It tastes just like ribs" Which is the best food on the planet- And he doesn't even really like chicken. I have made it for company, and everyone raves about it, and asks for the recipe.

Recipe title is misleading. Should be prefaced with the work "Stovetop" (which is not actually barbeque by the way).

Sooo good! Used boneless chicken thighs instead of bone-in, and my husband grilled them on the gas grill outside, and they were truly delicious and didn't taste light AT ALL. Served them with the grilled sliced squash/zucchini as suggested and the milder flavors perfectly complimented the bold spice of the chicken. A definite keeper!

I didn't enjoy this as much as I though I would simply because I expected more flavor from the dry rub and sauce combination. I felt like the sauce sort of took over and tasted too much like ketchup. I'd make this again, but use more mustard and less ketchup.

Love this recipe!!!! We tried it on Pork Tips and cooked them on the charcoal grill with zucchini from our garden. Even our 5 yr old twins loved it.

Loved the glaze - it was such a yummy addition to regular old grilled chicken. We used boneless breasts instead of thighs. My husband and I both thought it was the best chicken we've had in a while.

I thought this was fantastic. I can't wait to make it again. I might take guinness's tip and add cayenne too. I used breasts, not thighs, but followed the spice rub and sauce verbatim.

Awesome!Prepared as directed and it tasted perfected! I would recommend the grill over the grill pan because my kitchen got a bit smokey.

I thought the flavors were great. My husband and I are big into BBQ-ing and it hard to find a good BBQ chicken recipe that isn't so high in fat. I grilled the thighs on my gas grill. Next time I will probably use the charcoal to get a better smoky flavor. The rub was good and the glaze was perfect!! This was an easy recipe and great for a weeknight meal.

Perfect with the Quinoa and Pistachio Salad with Moroccan Pesto (Cooking Light, July 2009, page 75). Also works on a charcoal grill. Follow the recipe exactly for the best flavors -- including the brown sugar.

These were yummy! Used both chicken thighs and breasts. Served with quinoa and recommended zucchini. Will definetly use this as my go to recipe for BBQ chicken.

Very good chicken dish. I will definitely make this again. I would serve this to family or guests. I followed the recipe as written except I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I served this with quinoa with brown rice and garlic, oven roasted asparagus and white wine. It is very easy to make. I would probably make some extra sauce the next time. It is a great recipe because I had all the ingredients on hand.

Did 2 breasts and 2 thighs - could have added another breast. Did on charcoal BBQ for suggested times - will reduce a bit for breasts next time. Uses cupboard staples, easy and so good. What else can you ask for.

I loved this recipe last year when it first came out. Made a bulk amount of the rub. This year I rubbed it on a pork tenderloin and baked it alongside my oil rubbed/seasalt-rosemary fingerling potatoes. Was as delicious on pork as it was on the chicken.

Yummy! I made 1/2 again extra rub and extra sauce as suggested and I was so glad. The flavors really come together nicely. I grilled this outdoors, super good! Served with sweet potato chips. This will be great for BBQ guests this summer.

This is the BEST barbecue sauce I have ever tasted, let alone be homemade. It is similar to shake n bake with the rub and the ketchup/dijon mustard/red wine vinegar topping made it 100% perfect. This is my GO-TO barbecue recipe from today forward! The whole family loved it. I used it on drumsticks in the oven but I can't wait to try it on the grill now that summer is here!

So delicious - I use boneless chicken breasts which I pound slightly, then grill for about 5 minutes/side. The char from the sweet and tangy sauce is wonderful. Simple and wonderful next to grilled corn and steamed asparagus!

My family has already asked when I was going to make this again. We all loved it. After reading the reviews I increased the amount of spices and it was perfect!

Super tasty! I added extra garlic to the rub and added a pinch of cayenne, because I love garlic and spice, but it really wasn't spicy. The sauce is awesome! I used chicken breasts instead, and grilled it, and it turned out great. My boyfriend can't get enough of the sauce, and I would definitely make this again as a quick and easy meal.

After eating plain chicken for months before our wedding, this recipe proves you can still eat healthy and have loads of flavor! Excited to try more new recipes but this one is a keeper! I didn't have chili powder and I can't really handle spicy food so I omitted it. I also used honey mustard instead of dijon since that is what I had on hand it turn out delicious. Lastly, I used 3 chicken breasts and used a meat mallet to thin them out for easy grilling, the rub was just enough for 3 breasts since they have a larger surface space once they are flattened. We will make this again for sure!

The rub is great! I didn't make the glaze as we had barbecue sauce we needed to use up, but will be using this rub again. Also used boneless thighs and cooked the chicken on a gas grill instead of grill pan, no issues.

VERY tasty! I used chicken breasts with most likely less surface area than thighs. Lots of flavor and very sweet. My question is are the tbsps of brown sugar packed or not?
