Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 bacon slice, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 12 ounces cooked roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 kaiser rolls, split

How to Make It

  1. Cook bacon in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes; add onion, and sauté 3 to 5 minutes or until bacon is crisp and onion is tender. Stir in ketchup and next 6 ingredients; bring mixture to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in sugar and sliced beef. Serve warm on kaiser rolls.
