Banbury Tarts

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten w/ 1 tbsp. water
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • Filling: 1 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 c. currents
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Cream butter, Crisco, sugar, egg. Add flour, baking powder, salt. Mix well. Divide into 4 parts. Roll like pie crust. Line small muffin pan w/ dough. fill w/ 1 tsp. filling.

Bake 13 minutes at 350 degrees.
