Baked Tomatoes

Yield 6 to 8 servings


  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried whole basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried whole oregano

How to Make It

  1. Cut tomatoes in 1/2-inch slices. Place slices in a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking dish. Combine melted butter and garlic; spoon over tomato slices.

  2. Combine remaining ingredients, and sprinkle over buttered tomato slices. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
