This soup is delicious! It is a new family favorite, and we feel sad we have had the recipe in our cook book for years and haven't tried it until this year. We have made it 8-9 times this winter, we usually prefer to try different soups and not to have the same one again and again. This one is however an exception, it is simple and wonderful.

Hearty and delicious! I only added 4 cups of milk because otherwise it would have been too watery, and the consistency turned out perfect.

I give this soup three stars, however it would be higher if the potatoes could be chunkier. The taste was really good and I understand the why of slightly mashing the potatoes. Itâs just a personal preference. Iâll make it again. Served with a green salad and fruit for dessert.

if you don't like potato skin then peal your potatoes, if you don't like 1% use 2 or whole or cream. recipes are guidlines. nothing is set in stone. imagination people.

I found this recipe online and made it for my daughter when she had her wisdom teeth removed. It hit the spot! It was just right, not too heavy and not too light, so if felt like a meal to her. I left the potatoes chunky, and mashed up some of them with my hands while adding them to the soup, and it had a good consistency.

Yummy... I would have given it a 5 if I didn't add so much milk. I agree with the previous poster that it was too thin--next time I make it i wont add so much milk. It was especially tasty with just a little bit of bacon and shredded cheese.

Being a person who dislikes cooking, this recipe wasn't only delicious but was really easy!

Really good. Substitute almond milk for the milk for a casien free soup. I like to add garnishes on top, as well as leftovers, extra cheese, and gluten free beer.

If I make this in a crock pot do u think 5 cups of milk, and 4-6 hours on low would be good?

This is a good baked potato soup recipe. It needs more salt and less milk though. I will be experimenting with the right amount of milk. 7.5 cups is way too much, 4 cups was a bit too little. The lack of salt may be because I did not use bacon drippings to saute the onion. I used pre-cooked bacon to make it easier. This worked well, but more salt is needed or the potato is bland.
