Baked Apples

Yield 6 servings


  • 6 large baking apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Whipping cream (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Core apples; peel top third of each. Divide lemon into 6 wedges; stuff 1 wedge into cavity of each apple, and set aside.

  2. Combine water and sugar in a shallow baking dish; stir well. Place apples in dish. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally with pan liquid. Serve hot or cold with whipping cream, if desired.
