Sauté asparagus in 2 teaspoons hot oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet 7 minutes. Add ginger, and sauté 1 minute. Stir in sugar and remaining ingredients, and cook 1 minute.

This was great. I sprinkled it with sesame seeds before serving adding a nice crunch. I made it for guests and precooked the asparagus until almost done, added the ginger and removed from heat until just before serving when I continued with the recipe.
