Asiago Cheese Grits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked quick-cooking grits
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded Asiago cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste

How to Make It

  1. Bring water, milk, and salt to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually whisk in 1 1/2 grits. Cook, stirring often, 6 to 7 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in Asiago cheese, basil, chives, parsley, butter, and salt to taste, stirring until blended.
