In large pan, combine brown sugar, starch, 1/2t cinamon, 1/4t salt. Add vanilla, water and butter. Boil. This is the caramel sauce. Add apples and continue cooking over med heat stirring 4-5 min.
Pour mixture into unbaked crust and set aside. In mixing bowl whisk together pumpkin, evap milk, sugar, egg, 1/2 t cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, 1/4t salt.
Pour over apple layer; bake for 50 min until set. Cool completely before cutting.
