  • 1 Pillsbury pie crust
  • 1/3 C brown sugar
  • 1T starch
  • 1t cinnamon, divided
  • 1/4t nutmeg
  • 1/4t allspice
  • 1/2t salt, divided
  • 1t vanilla
  • 1/3C water
  • 2T butter
  • 3C apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4C pumpkin
  • 3/4C evaporated milk
  • 1/3C sugar
  • 1 egg


  1. In large pan, combine brown sugar, starch, 1/2t cinamon, 1/4t salt. Add vanilla, water and butter. Boil. This is the caramel sauce. Add apples and continue cooking over med heat stirring 4-5 min.

  2. Pour mixture into unbaked crust and set aside. In mixing bowl whisk together pumpkin, evap milk, sugar, egg, 1/2 t cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, 1/4t salt.

  3. Pour over apple layer; bake for 50 min until set. Cool completely before cutting.
