Apple Cake with Nutmeg Sauce

  • 2 whole(s) eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 6 gala or fuji apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 cup(s) flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • Nutmeg Sauce
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 1/2 cup(s) flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Nutmeg
  • 4 cup(s) Skim Milk at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla


  1. For cake:

  2. Preheat over to 350 degrees.

  3. Mix together eggs, sugar, oil and cinnamon. Stir in peeled and sliced apples. In a separate bowl mix together flour and baking soda. Incorporate dry ingredients into wet until fully mixed. Pour into greased 9 X 13 pan and bake for 55 minutes.

  4. For sauce:

  5. Melt butter and mix in flour and nutmeg, stir for 2 to 3 minutes, slowly add milk and stir until hot and thickened, once the sauce thickens stir in the sugar and vanilla and stir until sugar is fully dissolved.

  6. Serve sauce over slices of cake.
