Alice's Mushroom Rice

A holiday favorite, this recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. Drained liquid from the mushrooms and/or the water chestnuts may be used for the broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) Uncle Ben's converted rice
  • 1 can(s) beef consomme (or 2 1/2 cups water/ broth or fish bouillon)
  • 1 can(s) water
  • 1/2 stick(s) butter
  • 1 can(s) mushrooms and/or water chestnuts

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Double or triple recipes should also be baked for 1 hour.
