Alfredo Sauce - Easy

Photo: centzablemom

A smooth and creamy white sauce is all it takes to make an everyday pasta dinner out of this world. Make sure you serve with bread for dipping in the extra sauce. Substitute fat free milk and cream cheese to shave off those extra calories.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 butter
  • 8 ounce(s) cream cheese (light)
  • 2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 2 cup(s) milk (fat free)
  • 6 ounce(s) parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) black pepper ground

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in a non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta and serve with garlic bread or bread sticks.
