We'll never know for sure, but this is our best guess.

Given that today, August 15th, is Julia Child’s birthday, it’s safe to say that we’ve got the late American chef, author, and TV personality on the brain. With such a bubbly personality, she was known for her unexpected outbursts and on-the-fly quotes. Since these characteristics are obviously what make social media, specifically Twitter, the incredible platform that it is, we couldn’t help but wonder just what Julia’s 140-character messages would look like.

We took a look back to some of her career highlights, kitchen fails, and everything in between to try and get a better idea as to how her social media persona would come across. We tried to get as close to her voice and spirit as possible, but as we all know, there’s only one Julia Child— and as hard as we can try, we’ll never do it quite like she did.

Watch Now: How to Make a Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

That moment when you burn the cookies but eat them anyway because #cookies

Julia, we feel you. A little crisp never hurt, and whether they’re salty or packed with nuts and oats, we’ve never met a cookie that we didn’t like. There’s no shame in a tan bottom—it adds character.

Cooking is 100 percent better with wine. Fave if you agree, RT if you’re already drinking

She always knew how to get the crowd going, and this instance is no excuse.

Should I debone and roast a whole duck tonight, y/n?

Known for her meat-centric dishes, this tweet is a perfect example of Julia being Julia. We’d like to think that regardless of the feedback in her mentions, she’d probably go ahead and debone that whole duck like the goddess that she was.

Cooking (and life) tip: Everything really is better with butter

Talk about a viral tweet—CAN WE GET A RETWEET OR WHAT?! I mean, come on, this is a pretty sweet life motto to have. Thanks for the life advice, Julia.

Was gonna make an omelet tonight but messed up the flip so scrambled eggs it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If there’s anybody who could make messing up seem fun and cool, it was definitely her. And when things don’t go as planned, it’s not about wallowing in the mess-up, but creatively finding a way to make it into something delicious. A problem-solver, indeed.

Friendly reminder that cooking is one failure after another but that’s how you learn so chin up, kiddos

You better preach, Julia! This is the pat-on-the-back tweet that we all need to see after a bout in the kitchen doesn’t go quite as planned. It’s okay, these things happen. Breathe in, breathe out.

Voilà.

This requires no caption. Signature phrase, right here. Julia’s gonna Julia.

Current status: Chocolate and almonds and rum and butter = <3

Talk about an evergreen tweet. We are right there with you in solidarity, sweets and alcohol in hand.
