March Madness Basketball Rice Krispies Treats

Make some March Madness magic with this super simple basketball treat. We may have had these for breakfast the next morning. The peanut butter naturally makes the treats slightly orange, but to make the color brighter, add a few drops of orange food dye.

A few tips, spray anything that touches this sticky treat with cooking spray during prep. We sprayed spatulas and even our fingers lightly to make spreading easier.

3 tablespoons butter

1 package marshmallows

1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter

Orange food coloring, optional

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Black icing (we used squeezable)

In a large Dutch oven, melt butter, then add marshmallows. Stir over medium heat until melted and smooth. Add peanut butter, stir until smooth. Add three drops of orange food coloring, if you desire, adding more until the desired color is reached.

Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until combined.

Coat a 9X13 casserole dish with cooking spray and press until evenly distributed. Let set until cool.

Using a round biscuit or cookie cutter coated with cooking spray, cut out rounds. Press excess treats to create more rounds. Using black icing, trace two straight lines and two half circles on the treats. Serve, or store for later.

Love Rice Krispies treats and have a few leftover Peeps laying around? Make marshmallow magic.

Happy baking!
