Fast Simple Syrup: To use in the Sparkling Sipper. Bring equal parts sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Boil, stirring often, 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; cool completely. You can also find bottled simple syrup, such as Stirrings, in larger supermarkets.

Coffee-Bourbon Ice Cream: Add a scoop to the adults' apple tart. Drizzle premium bourbon, such as Basil Hayden's Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, over a scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Sprinkle with freshly, finely ground coffee.
