This easy make-ahead recipe is a must-have for any large gathering.

1 (14 1/2-oz.) can green beans, drained
1 (14 1/2-oz.) can yellow wax beans, drained
1 (15 1/2-oz.) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 red onion, thinly sliced
3/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Toss beans and onion together in a large bowl; set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves; pour over bean mixture. Cover and chill overnight.
