Core apples, cutting to but not through bottom ends. Fill each apple evenly with mincemeat and, if desired, raisins. Arrange in a lightly greased 9-inch square baking dish. Dot with butter, and drizzle with honey. Pour wine into dish.
Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting often. Serve with ice cream.
* 3/4 cup apple juice may be sustituted for wine.
