1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese


Combine first 3 ingredients; cut in butter and cheese with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle over apples in pastry shell.
