- 1 18 1/4-oz. pkg. chocolate or spice cake mix
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 16-oz. container vanilla or orange frosting
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Bake in 18 to 24 paper-lined muffin cups. Cool and set aside. Place chocolate chips in a small plastic zipping bag; microwave on high 30 seconds to one minute, or until melted. Snip off one corner of bag to form a small hole; squeeze chocolate onto a wax paper-lined baking sheet to form 3 concentric circles. Immediately draw a toothpick through circles to form spiderweb design. Repeat with remaining chocolate; chill until set. Frost cupcakes; press webs gently into frosting.
