1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour


Cream butter; gradually add sugar and flour to make a stiff dough. Press mixture into a greased 9-inch tart pan or shortbread mold. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack. Cut into wedges.
