Seasoned Fresh Green Beans

1 small onion
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 pound fresh green beans
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper


Cut onion in half lengthwise; cut each half into thin slices. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add onion; cook over medium heat 4 minutes or until tender. Wash green beans; remove stems. Add green beans, water, salt, and pepper; cook 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
