Royal Icing Recipe

A simple combination of confectioners' sugar and meringue powder creates an icing worthy to top homemade Snowman Cookies or Gingerbread Gift Boxes this Christmas.

4 cups confectioners' sugar
5 tablespoons meringue powder


Combine sugar and meringue powder with 1/8 cup water; mix with an electric mixer on low speed until icing is smooth, about 5 minutes. Use immediately (or store in an airtight container at room temperature overnight; stir before using).
