Combine olive oil, pine nuts, minced garlic, pecorino Romano cheese, salt, pepper, and basil leaves to make this classic pesto.

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup pine nuts, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 ounces grated pecorino Romano cheese
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup finely chopped fresh basil leaves

Preparation

Combine olive oil, pine nuts, minced garlic, pecorino Romano cheese, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir in basil leaves until combined.
