Pea-and-Green Onion Soup

2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon bacon drippings
1 1/2 cups frozen English peas
3 tablespoons cream
Salt
Pepper

Preparation

Sauté green onions in bacon drippings in a saucepan over medium heat 1 minute. Stir in peas and water to cover. Bring to a simmer; cook 25 minutes. Process until smooth. Stir in cream; add salt and pepper to taste. Add water, if desired.
