1 cup shortening
2 (16-ounce) packages powdered sugar, sifted and divided
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup half-and-half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Combine shortening and one package of sugar; beat well. Add remaining ingredients, beating until smooth.

Note: Icing may be stored in an airtight container in refrigerator for several days.
