Soaking the onion in ice water takes away some of the sting.
Makes about 3 1/2 cups

1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
2 cups ice water
3 navel oranges
2 avocados, chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 teaspoon salt


Prep: 15 Minutes
Stand: 30 Minutes

1. Combine onion and water in a bowl; let stand 30 minutes. Drain well.

2. Peel and section oranges; cut orange sections in half crosswise. Place in a medium bowl. Add onion and avocado; sprinkle with lime juice and salt, tossing gently to combine.
