Oatmeal-Coconut Crispies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup uncooked regular oats
1 cup crisp rice cereal
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans


Beat first 3 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add egg, beating until blended.

Add flour and next 4 ingredients, beating until blended. Stir in rice cereal, coconut, and pecans.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.

Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until lightly browned; remove to wire racks to cool.
