Mushroom Sauce

2 1/4 cups

1/2 medium onion, minced
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 (6-ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper


Sauté onion in butter in a small saucepan over low heat until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth and whipping cream; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in remaining ingredients.
