Mushroom Pâté Filling

1 1/2 pounds fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
8 green onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 (2 3/4-ounce) cans French liver pâté
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper


Sauté mushrooms and green onion in butter in a medium skillet until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well. Remove from heat; let cool completely.
