Lemony Buttermilk Cream Cheese

This simple spread makes for the perfect base of any toast or crostini. The creamy texture complements fresh produce as well as meats and poultry, while not overpowering the palate and letting the toppings really shine through.

6 tablespoons whole buttermilk
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
