Lemon Sauce

1 3/4 cups

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Dash of salt
1 cup water
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened


Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a small saucepan; mix well. Gradually add water and lemon juice; stir until smooth. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 10 minutes or until thickened. Add butter; stir until butter melts. Cool slightly.
