Honey-Crisp Coffee Cake

3 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk


Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, beating well.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

Pour batter into a greased 9- inch square cake pan. Spread Honey - Crisp Topping evenly over batter. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Cut into squares to serve.
