1 (16-ounce) loaf thinly sliced white bread
About 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup cherry jam
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon half-and-half


Trim crust from bread. Cut a heart and a diamond shape from each slice of bread, using 2-inch diamond-shaped and 2 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutters. Spread each with butter and jam.

Combine cream cheese and half-and-half; mix well. Spoon cream cheese mixture into pastry bag, and pipe around edge of each sandwich. Chill.
