Greengage Plum Ice Cream

1 gallon

1 1/2 quarts milk
1 quart whipping cream
3 cups plum preserves
3/4 cup sugar
Juice of 2 medium lemons
Pinch of salt


Combine all ingredients in freezer can of a 1 gallon hand turned or electric freezer, stirring until well blended. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Let ripen at least 1 hour before serving. Scoop into individual serving bowls, and serve.
