Green Peas With Spring Onions

Lettuce leaves
2 (10-ounce) packages frozen English peas
2 dozen green onion bulbs, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt


Line a small Dutch oven with lettuce leaves. Add peas, onion bulbs, butter, and salt. Top with lettuce leaves. Cover and cook over low heat 15 minutes or until peas are tender. Remove lettuce leaves; discard. Place peas and onions in a serving bowl.
