1/4 pound salt pork, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
6 cups water
2 pounds fresh green beans, snapped
1 small onion
1/2 teaspoon pepper
12 new potatoes, washed and scrubbed
Place salt pork and water in a large Dutch oven; cover and cook over medium heat 1 hour. Add green beans, onion, and pepper; cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Add potatoes; cover and simmer 50 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
