1 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 (14 1/2-ounce) cans whole tomatoes, undrained and quartered
3 (16-ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground orégano
3/4 teaspoon dried whole basil
1/4 teaspoon pepper


Sauté onion in butter in a large saucepan over low heat until tender. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
