4 medium apples, unpeeled and cored
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Slice apples into 1/3-inch rings. Place apples and butter in a large skillet; cover and cook over medium heat 10 minutes or until apples are tender. Add sugar, and cook uncovered 10 minutes or until golden brown.
