Garlicky Black Beans Recipe

1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
2/3 cup unsalted chicken stock
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed


Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add minced garlic, and cook 1 minute, stirring frequently. Stir in cumin and oregano; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add chicken stock, salt, and beans, drained and rinsed. Bring to a simmer; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
