Garlic Mashed Potatoes

2 pounds red potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
2 garlic cloves, halved
1/2 cup 2% reduced-fat milk
1 tablespoon butter
3/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Total: 30 Minutes

1. Place potatoes and garlic in a medium saucepan; cover with cold water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 12 minutes or until potatoes are very tender. Drain. Return potato mixture to pan. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper; mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.
