Cornmeal Sippets

1 cup cornmeal
1 1/4 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons shortening, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt


Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl; mix well. Spoon batter by tablespoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until edges are browned. Serve warm with soups or stews.
