Cornbread Muffins

1 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons bacon drippings


Combine first 5 ingredients; mix well. Add milk, egg, and bacon drippings; stir only to combine. Fill greased muffin pans two-thirds full. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes or until browned.
