Chocolate-Peanut Frosting

1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
1 (16-ounce) package powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup salted peanuts, chopped
1 cup flaked coconut (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Combine cocoa, butter, and milk in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar, peanuts, and coconut, if desired. Mix well and stir in vanilla.
