Cherry-Chip Chewy Crispy Bars become grown-up fare with the addition of dried cherries to this variation of a favorite childhood treat.

2 tablespoons butter
10 ounce marshmallows
1 cup finely chopped dried cherries
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups rice cereal
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate minichips
Melt butter and marshmallows over medium-low heat. Stir cherries and vanilla into melted marshmallow mixture. Add cereal, and toss well to combine. Press cereal mixture into a 13 x 9-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle mixture evenly with minichips.
