Caramelized Cherry Lavender Dessert

Makes 2 cups

1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
2 cups pitted cherries
Fresh lemon juice
Angel food cake
Toasted sliced almonds


Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add brown sugar, lavender, cherries, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Simmer until cherries are warm. Spoon over sliced angel food cake with a few toasted sliced almonds.
