Brisket Red Sauce

This sauce is thinner than a Texas sauce, but it blends perfectly with the smoky beef flavor.
3 cups

1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcesteshire sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper


Stir together all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionaly, 5 to 7 minutes or until sugar dissolves.
