Barbecue Sauce

1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 medium-size green pepper, finely chopped
4 lemon slices
1 whole dill pickle, finely chopped
1 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons chili sauce
1 teaspoon firmly packed brown sugar


Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes. Use sauce for barbecuing beef, pork, or chicken.
